KOTA’s 2025 Legislative Day Under the Dome: A Powerful Day of Advocacy and Connection
On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, occupational therapy professionals from across Kansas gathered at the State Capitol in Topeka for KOTA’s annual Legislative Day Under the Dome. This energizing event brought together practitioners, students, and advocates to engage with legislators and champion the future of occupational therapy in our state.
Attendees heard from dynamic speakers who provided valuable insights into current legislative priorities and the impact of policy on the OT profession. Participants also had the opportunity to tour the Capitol, network with fellow occupational therapists, and personally deliver information and thoughtful gifts to lawmakers.
Most importantly, members had meaningful conversations with policymakers, advocating for the essential role of occupational therapy in promoting health and independence for all Kansans. The day was a strong reminder of the power of our collective voice and the importance of staying engaged in the legislative process.
