The University of Saint Mary invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as the Doctoral Capstone Coordinator (DCC) in the entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program. The DCC is specifically responsible for the program’s compliance with the capstone requirements of ACOTE Standards Section D.1.0. The DCC will be granted 75% administrative release for the 2020 – 2021 Academic Year, with 25% allocated to course development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop, review, maintain doctoral capstone policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ACOTE standards. Establish and maintain adequate sites for the OTD program, including maintaining signed memoranda of understanding (MOU) and/or affiliation agreements, compliance with site requirements, and maintaining site objectives and data. Collaborate with students and OTD faculty/Mentors to develop capstone experiences with clearly defined objectives. Advise students regarding capstone experience and project; Perform duties of an Occupational Therapy Instructor. Participate in University service and professional development. Willingness to work with other faculty and be supportive of the mission of University of Saint Mary. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or Division Chair.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctoral degree in an area of study which compliments the department. Must hold a current Kansas license in Occupational Therapy, license in good standing (or be eligible for licensure in Kansas). Documented expertise in area of instruction/teaching responsibility. Documented knowledge of content delivery method. Evidence of engagement in scholarly work. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in clinical practice as an Occupational Therapist.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a Doctoral Capstone Coordinator or Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for an Occupational Therapy program. Experience as a Doctoral Capstone Mentor/Clinical Instructor/Fieldwork Educator. Knowledge of ACOTE Standard. Prior or current full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level.
